Man, what a big AB by Polanco, a perfect bunt by Robles (odd that he'd PH for our best bunter but it worked out), and Ford doing juuuuuust enough.

he will decline his option, that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't sign with the mariners again. Last season the mariners declined his option and he did in fact sign againdesbcoach wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:08 pmHe will decline his t million option guaranteed to be a FA and better contract so he will be goneseth8734 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 5:56 amPolanco is 2nd next year. On the radio yesterday they were lamenting the massive pitch count of 95 that Logan Gilbert had. What a fucking joke these guys have become. Nolan Ryan could have had 95 pitches in the fourth and punched his manager in the face if he tried to take him out in the 8th! I can't believe that these many years later we now have a starting staff made up of five Erin Bedard's, but we do. 78 pitches and the manager starts to shit his pants and warm everyone up because in about 12 more pitches the starter's shoulder will be ruined for life.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 4:22 pm25 innings in two days.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 4:00 pmthe BP has to be taxed, I gave up a few games ago but haven't there been a number of extra inning games recently?

Mariners are ranked third in the league at 5.4 innings pitched per start, Phillies are number one at 5.7 innings pitched. Understand its more than health or stamina, it also has to do with getting different looksMichael K. wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 5:42 pmOn the radio yesterday they were lamenting the massive pitch count of 95 that Logan Gilbert had. Polanco will definitely opt out and be an FA so we will competing with several other teams but the fact he came back once increases the likelihood he will again. He must like it here.

Totally agree. It is ridiculous and even more absurd regarding position players. Tough guy Divish wrote that absurd piece suggesting the were losing because they were too tired because they were playing too much baseball. They promptly went on a 6 game winning streak. I guess the got untired somehow.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 5:42 pmOn the radio yesterday they were lamenting the massive pitch count of 95 that Logan Gilbert had. Re: Rivas for Exalted Ruler of the Marinerverse GT 9.11.25
On them signing Polanco again, I have to think he is happy with how they handled him this season. He's having the best season of his career. I am pessimistic about his returning but I think it will be dipoto's call. I bet he would be interested again“We were excited how optimistic he felt about returning to the Mariners,” Seattle president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said. “He knows our ballpark, he’s familiar with our clubhouse, he knows our manager and staff, and I thought it was a real positive that he chose to be here. We’re still open if the opportunity to add exists out there, but we feel it’s a good team. And if this is our team going into Spring Training or Opening Day, I’m pretty excited by it.”
something tells me Naydor would be as well. that guy has moved around a lot, traded five times. I don't believe that's enjoyable. If they continue to have a successful season, he's been able to put up numbers there. As opposed to all the negative experiences players seem to have at Tmobile, his seems more positive. It's not often they have managed to trade for a guy and have it work so well. I think that's a pretty significant aspect to trading for him in the first place
and honestly, dipoto has been pretty good at retaining players, selling extensions

Dipoto actually being quite transparent about wanting to retain Naylor
“Yeah I think we would [like to retain him],” Dipoto said. “That remains to be seen how Josh feels about the matter. It’s never easy when you’re in a playoff race to open discussions like that. I know that there is interest on our end, and I believe that there is interest on Josh’s end.”
