Probably no chance at either but yes better to throw home.

I don’t know. SS going to his right and deeper in the hole can’t plant his feet for a throw to home, and has to sling the ball sidearm or 3/4 under, purely off his arm strength.

I think going to 1st was the right move for him in the moment. The extra step killed his chance.
