Any rumors to Seattle being linked to Rodon because I'd be all in on him. Load up on starters then deal from depth. Doesn't mean you still can't add a big FA bat. Say sign Bryant &/or Suzuki then trade for another bat.
Sounds like a smart plan
Only problem is it if you do that and then they run out of money and can't make trades or don't want to make trades as j.d. said he doesn't want to trade top prospects then I got to watch a dog s*** offense for another full year
$150M was barely a top 10 payroll in 2021.

No reason they can't go up to $180M in the next couple years imo.

They might go up to 110 this year and then 150 next That would be my guess but I'm just guessing

BPJ I wish it was your wallet and money we just go spend like you want and opinion. I would hope Stanton wants to push it up there but you stating and I assume you don’t have inside info for budget matters doesn’t make it so or closer to happening

I agree, but unless we're a small market team, fans are letting them off easy by making excuses for them under $150M.

I don't think expecting Top 10 payroll is unrealistic when they're supposedly in their window.

Should be able to go to $180 at some point.

I'd be ok with $150 but would love 180. These young guys don't cost anything.

And a $130 payroll would be enough to fill every hole in the MLB roster with quality players this offseason and leave room for growth.

I think Divish was even guessing a $130M payroll. It's time to open the purse and get there.

Agreed. To acquire players through trades, you need to give to get. For free agents you add talent.

But at the cost of a draft pick if they come with a QO. We already forfeited a third rounder. Next one will cost us a fourth.
