MadRingers vs Stranglers game 1 GT
Re: MadRingers vs Stranglers game 1 GT
Ty looking like a non tender candidate. Not much reason to pay him $6M next year.
Re: MadRingers vs Stranglers game 1 GT
Ranger's 8 hits, M's 8 hits
Rangers 3XBH, M's 3XBH
walks and HBP
Rangers 3 M's 7
And most of the production happened after the 6th, so you think we would have had some cluster luck but no, the other guys pulled a victory from our grasp.

Guess we'll see.
Wouldn't be the first "first baseman" with terrible numbers to get shown the door.
You're the one on pace to chug that nutshot. Team has fallen out of the playoff race since they brought him back to "save the season" and it took a 3 walk day to get his OPS since he's been back up over .600.
And we still lost because nobody drives runs in, they're too busy "drawing walks".
Re: MadRingers vs Stranglers game 1 GT
Cody Bellinger nontendered by Dodgers last offseason.
Dominic Smith nontendered by the Mets last offseason.
Luke Voit was nontendered by the Nats and was projected to be paid the same $6M that Ty is on pace to make.
Brian Anderson was nontendered by the Marlins last offseason.
Ty didn't do much better than any of them and he's at the point where he's not cheap anymore.
Although he'll still earn less than Evan White

France needs to go take a seat on the bench and Ford needs to play. He's KILLING this team.

And the thing about sitting JK for Ford, they don't play the same position, there's no reason to bench JK, Ford for France gives you your most effective lineup

Not much reason to have Canzone in ahead of Ford either.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 5:14 amAnd the thing about sitting JK for Ford, they don't play the same position, there's no reason to bench JK, Ford for France gives you your most effective lineup

Yeah, more like a football situation, Dipoto doesn't have to find a trade partner, he can save money by non-tendering him, though somehow doubt that happensbpj wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 3:18 amCody Bellinger nontendered by Dodgers last offseason.

Yeah, I don't know what'll happen with France.
I don't think we have room for improvements plus keeping Ty, Geno, Dylan Moore and the new guys.
Moore has a guaranteed contract, he costs less, has been better, and is more versatile than Ty.
By WAR France didn't even earn this years salary of $4M. Fangraphs has him "earning" $2.7M this season.
Christian Walker was paid $6.5M this year. Carlos Santana was paid $6.75M. Cronenworth, Cooper and Lowe were all around $4M.
Ty is looking at about $6M in arbitration next year, and all of those guys significantly outplayed Ty.
Dom Canzone has a .681 OPS this year to Ty's .692.
Not hard to replace.
May depend on how Ty finishes the season. I hope he earns his place here!
Even Mike Ford outplayed him, and Ford will be practically minimum wage. Yeah, Ford could bomb and have a .692 OPS himself. But that's the point- they wouldn't have to pay him $6M to do it.
Here's this year's list of 1B. "Dol" just shows how much Fangraphs WAR says they've been worth this year-
