Yeah, should have him batting fifth.
I agree, they should.

But without any legitimate MOTO hitters on the team, I'd probably have him hitting third.

Raley I don't think belongs above 6th, but they obviously brought him in for a reason so he'll probably get his shot to hit. I'd have him hitting 8th.

Crawford
Polanco
Julio
Raley
Garver
Raleigh
Haniger
France
Urias/Rojas

Definitely a deep lineup
My exact lineup with a minute exception of France above Mitch.

Honestly, I don't care where they move him 1-3, so long as he's mashing. It'll probably depend on whether the pitcher is a righty or lefty.
Well if you care about us scoring runs we should care. We will almost assuredly score more runs with him hitting 3rd.

btw Jerry has taught his lil buddy well with the "We have been on him for YEARS!!!!" line
“He’s a guy that we have liked and tried to acquire for years,” said Hollander. “I think I personally made more calls on this trade than I ever have on any trade before at the behest of both my own want to add him to our group, so a really big day for us. (I) feel like it makes us a lot better and excited to add him.”
We could debate this until the cows come home. I see many arguments for both sides.
Actually there is only one argument to hit him higher and its weak AF. ~17 more PAs hitting 2nd than 3rd.

Jorge Polanco is the same age Eugenio Suarez was two years ago when the latter arrived in Seattle with a tarnished defensive reputation.

Perhaps infield coach Perry Hill can work his magic again.

On the 101-win Minnesota Twins in 2019, Mitch Garver hit leadoff in 25 games while Polanco was in the No. 2 hole for 125 games:

I think it'll be a platoon. I haven't seen Urias, so I don't know what kind of hitter he is. I hope he's as good or better than Rojas. I'll reserve judgement until I can get my eyes on him.
Neither should be staring 3B for a playoff hopeful team
No team has 9 Above average position players in the lineup. Even the mighty Braves have settled for shit show POS JK as one of their COFers...
We are settling at 3B, LF, and I’m still unsure about Raley/Haniger in RF. We’ll see if France can be better at 1B. He wasn’t above average last year. They also have a legit middle of the order that the mariners do not.

Polanco has 14 HT last year. I thought “that nice”. Then I realized it was only 80 games... We’ll see how it plays in Tmobile. Did he play injured in 2022? If not, that season is hopefully the outlier. Not going to make much from 2020 Covid year

3B isn't great but projects to 2.3 WAR about average.
LF is Raley and Moore. Totally fine with that. I like Raley for 2-3 and maybe 4 WAR and Moore should be good for 1 WAR if healthy all season.
RF Agree that is the big hole and it should be filled with Bellinger but news flash we have cheap ass owners so have to pray for at least average there.
1B if driveline can boost JPs OPS by 143 points they sure as hell can get France simply back to his 2021-22 self especially combined with his decision to no longer be a fat fuck.

According to Baseball Savant, Jorge Polanco's 14 home runs last year would have translated to 19 home runs at T-Mobile Park:
