Yeah, I don't think Nicaragua has a whole lot of baseball infrastructure. They're likely signing this guy for peanuts given that most of their money is going to Felnin Celestin and I think one or two other guys. It's a stars and scrubs approach this year for IFA signings.

Been a while since an international pitcher worked out for the Mariners. A few fringy guys had good seasons last year, but they haven't had a home grown pitcher from their system reach the majors in years. The ones they traded away they traded fairly young. They seem to be doing best with college pitchers. Maybe need to just draft college pitchers and look for hitters every where else.

They expect M. Arroyo to break out in 2023. I think Locklear is going rake and Sanchez is going to break out even further.

The emphasis in Latin America right now is to try and develop hitters first because that's what teams are most interested in when signing 16 and 17 year-olds. That's where the bulk of the IFA signing pools is going. Pitchers are a bit trickier because the arms tend to not mature for another year or two, and then those kids are looked at as not projectable in the same way a younger player would be.

But a smart team could decide one year to pivot and instead of focusing on 16 year old position players, spread out their bonus pool on a bunch of slightly older pitchers closer to 18 years old. Instead of signing the equivalent of high school sophomore and juniors (position players), grab the high school seniors (pitchers) that are just starting to see their velocity tick up.

He is one year and 25 days younger than Axel. How about a gentleman's bet on higher OPS. I will take Axel in Everett and you take GG in Modesto. I think it will be close! Love both of those kids.

The Mexico pitcher is 2nd biggest guy out of class they are signing. Believe edge of top 30

I don't know if the OPS will project as much for G2, because I think he's still developing into that. Julio didn't have more than 13 HR in a year before he made MLB. I still think G2 will be better. Everett is a huge jump for hitters though. Go look at how long it took for Marte to figure it out (I know you remember how down on him you were and how I told you to have patience, then he exploded about midseason). You should probably temper your expectations for Sanchez, because he's going to have a learning curve as well, and I don't want to have the same conversation next season with you :)

I do think that G2 has a better year in Modesto (I say modesto, because he could get promoted during the season and then may have his struggles in Everett, although maybe he will just Julio it and just dominate every league hes in) than Sanchez has in Everett though.
