If the M's win out, and Houston goes 1-2, Texas wins the division. M's are one of the WC.
Cool, that isn’t what I was asking, I meant 2/3 (or 1-2 however you want to say it) so there’sa 3 way tie
LOL, we already covered that in the Current Playoff Situation thread. :P :P :P
I don’t see anything that tells us who gets the WC in a 3 way tie for the division. I’m pretty sure mariners win the division, but do the rangers or Houston get the WC spot (let’s assume that Toronto has the WC2 locked up).

For a 3 way tie I assume it goes to division record, after that does it go to head to head, or stick at division record of the 2 teams in the WC race are from the same division and lost the division for a tiebreaker. And in that scenario, does Houston or Texas get the WC3.

In other words, if Houston loses tomorrow, does Texas clinch a playoff spot?

Found this. Here’s how it would work…

https://marinersblog.mlblogs.com/marine ... nd%20Texas
TIEBREAKERS…Seattle holds the head-to-head tiebreaker against Houston and Toronto, while Texas holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Seattle…in the event of a 3-way tie for the AL West with Texas and Houston, Seattle would win the 3-way tiebreaker, with Houston finishing 2nd and Texas 3rd…Seattle, Houston and Texas can finish the season in a 3-way tie with a Mariners sweep of the Rangers (4–0) and an Astros series win (2–1) over the D-Backs.
This would come into play if mariners win and the Astros lose. Texas would still need a win or an Astros loss to even make the playoffs. So unless there is a tie with Toronto as well, which then makes it really crazy, and I have no idea how that would even work, then Rangers can’t be a wildcard team. Their magic number is 2 for playoffs and the division.

Spectacular finish, like I say, this down to the wire AL West division race is unprecedented in M's history.

JP is the MVP, great season.

By the way, what was the count before that hit?

Any of you guys going to the last 3 games, just curious?
Count was 1-1, I believe.

If they're still in it Sunday, I'll probably find the cheapest standing room ticket and go.

I'm not concerned with the Rangers playoff scenarios. One thing is that if they win at least one game, they make the playoffs.

I think I'll post my game thread at 5:09 P.M. tomorrow 8-)
Guess I lost my thread and chance to win the prize. But if karma means we make the postseason I'd call that the best reverse jinx ever.

Oh, and Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!

They tried so hard to blow it and JP just wouldn't allow it to happen.

More unprecedented than 1995's 163 game?

How did Scott watch Teo in right field the other night and then start him in the outfield and Haggerty at DH again tonight?

Hernandez has 121 plate appearances at DH this year with an OPS of .869

When he's in RF he's had 545 plate appearances with a .725 OPS

That's interesting. Maybe as DH he sits and stews, with nothing to think about than his next AB.

In the outfield he just thinks, "don't hit it to me," over and over.

Woo, or Castillo on short rest? Any chance they go Castillo short rest, Kirby short rest, then miller and Woo combine for final game?
Scott said Woo tonight but probably and opener. Texas has to feel a bit skittish after being one out away. Win tonight and the pressure is on them!

If they get rid of Ty, Angie will need to start taking protein supplements.
 I just saw here celebrating his walk and thought it was odd.

Zac Gallen, possible Cy Young winner going vs. the Astros tomorrow.....We win and they lose and we are back in the playoffs...if you can believe that!
Who has the tiebreaker for Rangers and Houston? If mariners win out, and Houston goes 2-3, mariners get the division, right? Who gets wild card in that scenario?
Assuming BJs get #2 then Astros would get #3
