MLB had an article, that stated dodger, were, looking to trade for a CF and had talked with. Rainer’s about Kelenicbpj wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:32 pmHe definitely is.
Problem is he's not even the best available option left this offseason, he certainly won't be the best we can get out there over the next 4 years, but we'd be stuck with him.
If we end up with Kelenic in LF, Dipoto should be fired anyways. He's not even the best option we have now.
I'm not convinced Haggerty/Trammell isn't better than Benintendi.

That's close to what I have but I don't see Brantley because he is LF. Idiotic but is what it is.bpj wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 1:45 amBryan Reynolds is the best available so if we can get him for pitching depth I'd be in.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:42 pmWho is your LF RH choice right now?bpj wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:32 pm

Beyond that it's short term options. Wil Myers and Michael Brantley are the best guys that may come on one year deals.
Reynolds would fill the holes for 3 seasons, and he's actually good, so he's Option A.
I don't see any upgrades that would be worth committing to for more than a year- maybe two- when Trammell/Haggerty gave us a platoon of .775 vs RHP and 1.100 vs. LHP.
If one of them don't work out, that's when it would be time to bring Kelenic up and give him anothet shot.
At this point, imo, if it's not:
Reynolds
Brantley
Martinez
Myers
that we're adding on 1-2 year deals, then it's probably not worth doing.
There are probably some trades that we don't know are available.
Also I have Myers over JD because of age and the fact JD OPSed about .700 since June 1st and Myers OPSd .831 since he returned from injury on August 1st.

Yeah, just meant only guys left on market worth signing still. Only options for LF that represent an upgrade are Myers and Conforto imo.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 11:36 amThat's close to what I have but I don't see Brantley because he is LF. Martinez and Brantley are the two DH options that make sense.
Other than that, they're left with making trades or going in-house.

That one stings since we're still two bats short of having enough bats deserving of a rotating DH.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 11:44 pmAnd….. JD Martinez is off the board. One year, $10M to the Dodgers.
