I honestly thought they would do a one year bridge player in Whit Merrifield then bring up young latter in season.

I had zero thought on Polanco. I thought he’d struggle to make it back in time for ST.

Fucking disgusting. Literally the last guy in all of baseball I wanted. Now we get to see that shit show at least until July instead of one of young guys.
Seriously if this is the result they should have just kept Rojas. It's a clownshow over there.
They are paying him DOUBLE what Rojas would have cost.
Doubling down on the bad trade? Or justifying it??

The only thing that makes sense is if they use him as DH and not in the field. When he is ready to play one or two Mitch's could be sent packing.
He is an injury risk as well as a not so great fielder in my opinion. There is some hope that with a repaired knee his bat at DH will be better than the alternatives on this roster.

Polanco had one month with an OPS over .700

Sounds like a perfect Mariners DH.

Our only hope is he fails the physical. If he passes the physical and misses the 1st 6 weeks of the season I will laugh so hard. Jesus Christ Merrifield is even worse than Polanco. lol

They must feel that there's more upside with Polanco than with Ryan Bliss, and that's probably right.
