M’s and Teoscar heading to an arb hearing… has to be over a few hundred thousand…

Fucking Christ cheapest organization that pretends they’re a contender.
Agreed. That is so ridiculous. Teo is gonna earn what? $14.5 million!??!
He replaced Hanniger who will make $43.5 million over then next 3 years...an average of you guessed it....$14.5 million.

That "cheapest organization" has gone to an arbitration hearing with only one player since Jerry Dipoto joined the club in September 2015.

Apparently the Seattle front office is not handing Teoscar Hernandez a blank check at this early stage.

A blank check lol?

He can’t be asking for more than $15 million. It’s embarrassing that they can’t fork up $300 to $700k more for a player they’re supposedly trying to convince to stay.

Kramer saying it's hasn't happened
.It hasn't happened since general manager Jerry Dipoto took over after the 2015 season. And only twice since 2000 has Seattle gone all the way to a hearing
They will settle it before the hearing, it's not like a hearing favours the player

What we are talking about is paying him $200 mil over six seasons , making it six seasons is supposed to mitigate that risk, they are saying the tax cost was too steep
Have a link? Don't doubt you just would like to read it and don't feel like searching.
That they shortened it because of the leg? Maybe I'm wrong, why would they shorten it? Here is a timeline on how the twins landed him, it's interesting. He does really seem to like it there, sounds like a good match

https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-correa- ... s-timeline

On their original offer, thought about the mariners being considered that way
. “To their credit, they got into that realm,” Boras said. “Did they get to the top of it? No. But they got into it. And that was always in the back of my mind, because that illustrated to me that Minnesota is ready. They have that perception. Ownership is committed to where they went. That's what allowed me to really take Derek's interest to the level where I knew that he had the ability to achieve an objective in a very complicated situation.”

MLB Trade Rumors projected Teoscar Hernandez with a 2023 arbitration salary of $14.1 million:

The Seattle Mariners reportedly topped the projection by submitting an arbitration figure of $14.3 million while the Hernandez submission apparently has not been made public:

So, what if they don’t reach an agreement with Teoscar? Of the 3, he’s the one we want the most. Would be a waste of a trade to not pay him what he’s asking for.

Soto reached a $23M deal with the Padres. Why are we dicking around with Teoscar???

So they shouldn't actually negotiate with him, okay
