Where are you getting these stats? Cruz had a total fwar of 2.0 for the year and a bWAR of 2.5. There is no way he got 3.2 WAR as a DH for the Rays. He had a .725 OPS for them after the trade.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 2:41 amPeople make a mistake comparing our DH to what the average team gets out of their DH, instead of compared to what contending teams get from theirs. Only teams that are trying to contend are going to pay for a DH, of course the rest will suck![]()
They're the teams we're going to have to be better than in the end. The Rays are a smart enough org to recognize where they were lacking and make a move to fix it.

https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.a ... &teamid=12The depth charts found on the Team Pages are based on projected playing time, NOT the current status of a team's roster.
We added RosterResource's Depth Charts; these reflect a team's current roster and are regularly updated. We are working to have these two depth chart tools better complement each other.

Who is a better investment: an optioned Kyle Seager for one year at a net $18 million or free agent first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who reportedly turned down a five-year, $70 million contract extension last spring?
Since the start of the 2020 season Seager has posted 4.0 fWAR and an OPS+ of 105 in 918 plate appearances while Rizzo, who is 21 months younger than Seager, posted 2.6 fWAR and an OPS+ of 109 in 819 plate appearances.

Torrens is hit .266/.803 since returning from T-town. That would work as a full time DH with the ability to Catch or play 1B/3B in a pinch and the potential that he continues to improve at the plate.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:49 pmHere are the actual stats put up by every teams at the DH position.

Re: Offseason Plans
Well the Seager ship has sailed but I get your point. JD wants his team. Hopefully the adds this off season won't be another basket of Jerry's misfit kids that he falls in love with every off season for some unknown reason.harmony wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:52 pmWho is a better investment: an optioned Kyle Seager for one year at a net $18 million or free agent first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who reportedly turned down a five-year, $70 million contract extension last spring?
