Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!

Oh man, that's huge. All that horseshit and our boys not only won but threw a shutout!

Man, that ump took his time. He wanted to but he just couldn't. Sick pitch by Steckenrider.

What did Luetge ever do?
I'll let you form your own opinion:
Now Luekge, there was an interesting guy, but not because of anything he did on the field. It turns out that….you know what? I’m just gonna let Wikipedia tell you:

While in the Rangers organization Luekge was arrested following a May 2008 incident and charged with having committed rape and non-consensual sodomy. During the investigation Luekge lied to the police by denying he had sexual contact with the victim (an assertion proven false by DNA testing), and he pleaded no contest to lesser charges of false imprisonment with violence and was sentenced to 42 days in jail, time served prior to making bail.

After the July 9, 2010 trade that sent Luekge to the Seattle Mariners, team president Chuck Armstrong denied having any knowledge of Luekge’s criminal past, and stated if he had known, he would have stopped the deal with Texas. Up to that point, the Mariners organization had a long history of supporting groups who oppose violence against women, running a campaign called “Refuse to Abuse” and had previously suspended and traded reliever Julio Mateo, who was accused of beating his wife. After an interview with Luekge, Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik reported that he was “satisfied with the interview and it’s an issue that’s behind us.” Former Mariners pitching coach Rick Adair later told reporters that he had informed Zduriencik of Luekge’s legal troubles, and that Rangers GM Jon Daniels had made a standing offer to take Luekge back on the night of the trade. Adair had been the Rangers minor league pitching coordinator in 2008, when Luekge was charged.

OK….so we can draw one of several conclusions, and they’re all terrible. Either the president and GM of the Mariners don’t speak to each other, Armstrong is a liar, Zduriencik has no conscience and was totally cool with (secretly) acquiring a rapist, or some combination of the three. Wow. I think I’m done talking about this trade.

Everybody deserves a 2nd chance, most deserve forgiveness and redemption. I think he's grown up, is married with small children now. He'll always be an asshole. Now if the charges had been proven false, and I never heard that, I'd be cool with him.
Two different people I think
Yep.

Especially since we got a day off. This will make the flight home a little more bearable...

Finally! If we wouldn't have chunked that game yesterday would would have gone 4-3 vs. the Yanks and Rays which is reasonable....still not a disaster.

The count was 3-1. It was not 3-2. The ump will get a raise though. This makes it not even fun to watch horrible display. Has been hurting us all series.
Unions...
Are a good thing because they keep inept mgmt from firing employees simply because they don't like them.
Are a bad thing because they breed mediocrity.

Like everything in life, they aren't hard and fast, black and white.

Absolutely loved that he let Steck pitch 2 innings.
