An alternate solution is to just don't be a slimy weasel. Not hard.

I like it. he best news would be to see JK, TT, or even White were to flower into that club controlled good player.
I think they will be in contention based on the strength of their top four rotation guys, the BP, and the fact that they have 7 solid positions locked up in addition to 3 solid bench guys.
If they need to shore up a position near the midway point I think they can and will.

Agree on the top 4 of rotation but seems they will likely punt on the 5th spot because nobody wanted Marco or Flexen. The BP was 13th in WAR last season so mid pack. They traded the pitcher with the best FIP in the AL let Boyd walk and replaced them with straight up trash. Unless Salder is 2021 Sadler, the think the BP regresses to barely an average pen.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 7:41 amI like it. he best news would be to see JK, TT, or even White were to flower into that club controlled good player.

Not that I care about minor league contacts but signing
Leonys Martín to one? 35 years old, washed out of the Nippon league with a .163/.293/.317 slash. Are they just doing him a favor? Imagine things getting so rough we are down to Loenys Martin

the Mariners bullpen could feature a trio of power arms in the bullpen with Andrés Muñoz, Matt Brash and Miller down the stretch and, hopefully, into the postseason.

If any of the Opening Day relievers falter, there is quite a bit of depth to fall back on. Losing Swanson hurts, but hopefully that's what Gott is for. Trevor could completely fall on his ass, but this team needed a power hitter a lot more than it needed Erik Swanson. I'd make that trade again and twice on Sunday.
Bryce Miller, Emerson Hancock, Taylor Dollard, Justin Speier, Easton McGee, Bryan Woo, Chris Clarke, and more could potentially see major league innings this season. I have more faith in our bullpen than finding the right fit for our 5th spot in the rotation based on how I've seen the organization handle this situation so far.
