Yes, it initially appeared that we got the best of the Michael Pineda/Montero trade. We thought he was going to be our catcher until Raleigh came along.

The M's were forever trying to make him a catcher when everyone else was saying what a bad catcher he was. I always wondered if they had just let him work on hitting...just that one thing....if he would not have had a better career.

Generally speaking with the amount of failure involved with hitting I think you want the defensive side to take the pressure of the hitting side. Jesus wanted to be a catcher, guys want to play the field. It probably wouldn't have helped to have given up on it at that point
