Passan has amended his earlier report to state that a deal between the two sides is “not imminent.”

Of course ! It’s probably because we asked for someone with a heartbeat.

Will be interesting to see if Bruce is available to pinch hit in this tie game as we enter the 8th inning...

Quick poll is this faux news or does a deal get done with-in a day?

Most likely faux.
Who would you want?

https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PHI/2019.shtml - I've wanted utility guy Scott Kingery for a while but it would take a lot more than Bruce.

UPDATE: 10:46pm: A deal’s close to the finish line, “pending a review of Bruce’s medicals and other final details,” Ken Rosenthal of The Athletictweets. The Mariners will receive cash savings and a minor leaguer in return, Rosenthal adds.

Jay Bruce is owed the balance of his $13M salary this season and $13M next season. He also is due $1.5M as part of his signing bonus next season. Not yet known how much cash #Mariners will send #Phillies, but there is cash in the deal.

Get some fucking pitching!!!!!!!! It looks as though Philly's system is loaded with lots of it.

Here's a link at LL, with some names to possibly keep an eye on.

I can't get really excited about the return because I don't see M's reported to pay down the contract for a budget strapped contender. Staying out of their best prospects Is this too much?
Probably but
Ranger Suarez | Rank: 10 6'1" LHP
Scouting grades: Fastball: 55 | Slider: 50 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 60 | Control: 55 | Overall: 50

Ranger made his debut last year but has a 5.91 ERA in AAA so far in 2019

From the LL list, RHP Connor Seabold to Make Seattle SeaBold Again or LHP Kyle Young just because he's 6'10". Both actually intriguing.
Do not consider LHP Bailey Falter because just look at his last name. The article also mentioned some "crafty" lefties...........please, no more!
I actually like the RH/Righty bat of catcher Deivi Grullon "recently made it to Triple-A on the strength of his bat and powerful throwing arm"
