Jay Bruce not missing Seattle
Re: Jay Bruce not missing Seattle
The timing of the Jay Bruce acquisition was actually kind of lucky for the Phillies. Post McCutchen injury, the price tag would've been a bit higher.

Anyone hear about this???
That Leake made the start on Wednesday evening wasn’t a given. In the days leading up to his start and even into the evening hours on Tuesday, Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto worked to finalize a trade that would’ve sent Leake to the Arizona Diamondbacks per MLB sources. Obviously, the deal fell apart before the finish because Leake would’ve never taken the mound if there was a possibility of the deal happening.

In last night's game Mr. Bruce was 2 fer 4 with another home run. Segura was 3-5 and Nicasio got the win.

So Dippo trades a slugger and the Phils only pay $3 mil for 2 years.Double Mocha Man wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 6:02 pmIn last night's game Mr. Bruce was 2 fer 4 with another home run. Segura was 3-5 and Nicasio got the win.

Funny! No, Bruce will come back to earth... and he didn't fit into our plans anyway. Though, financially, and player-wise, we did get screwed on the deal.Hy Feiber wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 6:35 pmAre you the Marquis de Sade, you’re torturing US!Double Mocha Man wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 6:02 pmIn last night's game Mr. Bruce was 2 fer 4 with another home run. Bruce is far too slow to be a regular in the outfield. It's time for the M's to trade Haniger to the Phils for a package of prospects... reimagine 2024

The way Haniger is hitting now, they might not get much of a package.
