There would be a good case to move Arod to 3B ahead of Seager and Beltre and letting Omar's defense keep the pitchers in line at SS.

Or out of line if you're part of the untracked crowd.

That's what I get for not clicking on every link ! Thanks for posting that, Darren !

So, what was the distance on that, does anyone know ?
A few years before statcast but guessing close to 500ft. :)

I was a fan of Tino. Pissed be off that he went to the Yankees. The defense and arms Buhner jr and ichiro would be lights out.
Yeah so was I. He was definitely the best of them all if you consider his Yankee days but that is too painful for me to day. That trade was complete horse shit and cost us the playoffs in 1996.
you think Tino Matinez was a better player than John Olerud?...what are you basing that on exactly?

I recall reading somewhere that the Mariners’ front office was targeting Andy Pettite in that deal and got sold on Sterling Hitchcock, instead. I still scratch my head over that.

This lineup would have been pretty good, IMO... based on intangibles like baseball smarts, consistency, and character..(except Boone). these are my personal favorites

SS Omar Vizquel
2B Brett Boone
CF Ken Griffey Jr.
DH Edgar Martinez
1B John Olyrud
C Jason Varitek (I know... but he's the only decent catcher we almost ever had and Wilson is..... too low a talent to be an all time bar for measurement))
RF Nelson Cruz
3B David Bell
LF Dave Henderson

I'd rather have Olyrud than Tino any day, same with Bell over Seager, when Bell left, the team went down...

I think you are letting your anti Seager bias get the best of you Brother. :)

Seager has put up 30.7 WAR career vs. 13.5 for Bell

Seager obviously all 30.7 WAR for the M's. Bell: 6.2 for the M's

Bell best season with the M's: 3.2 WAR

Seager has had 6 seasons with 3.5+ WAR with a high of 5.2 in 2017.

Okay, I'll try one here too.

C Dan Wilson (I'd like Varitek if he actually had some stats with the M's)
1B John Olerud
2B Bret Boone
3B Edgar Martinez
SS Omar Vizquel
LF Raul Ibanez
CF Ken Griffey, Jr
RF Jay Buhner
DH Nelson Cruz

At least we have a solid middle of the order
