Arias looks ok but only a 5% walk rate and hasn't played above A ball.

Yeah it's weird... the Padres have a top 5 farm system in baseball and like 5-6 of these guys are in the top 100...

But I'd take Logan Gilbert, Jared Kellenic, Julio Rodriguez, George Kirby, Evan White, Noelvi Marte above their lot any day.

Exactly. I swear once a prospect is rated highly they have hit like a buck fifty for 2 seasons before they fall out of favor. The keep hyping up their tools and potential until the day before they are out of baseball.

Nola has done well, but does anyone really think the Padres would give up a top prospect for a 30 year old late bloomer with less than one season under his belt? Even the Mets aren't that dumb.

9:26PM: Top outfield prospect Taylor Trammell is also going to the Mariners, according to Passan. There is much more to come on this deal, as Passan says seven players (including Nola, Torrens, and Trammell) are all involved.

9:23PM: The trade has been completed, Jeff Passan reports. C Luis Torrens is heading to Seattle in return, according to Ken Rosenthal. (Both links to Twitter)
