For a 2 WAR pitcher (if that's what he ends up being) his contract isn't bad. Some team would likely either get a 1 WAR guy or a 3 WAR guy. I can see someone taking that shot. The Cardinals would probably have him in the Cy Young talks within a month!

I think that’s a stretch. Offering Kikuchi around would go past the concept of a rebuild and acknowledge publicly that the GM and the scouts pooched a major acquisition, don’t know what they’re doing and court full-blown anger from the fan base. I don’t see Jerry doing that.
