So do you really think her definition of rough sex included two black eyes, a busted lip, a swollen face, scratches on the side of her face, oh and just for good measure, let's throw in a cracked skull? Not to mention being choked to the point of unconsciousness? I'm not sure what your definition of rough sex is, but wouldn't you say that's taking it beyond extremes by anyone's definition of rough sex? Oh and don't forget about her being sodomized to the point of bleeding.

I'm sorry, but I fail to understand how anyone can justify that sick fucks actions or make excuses for him. Yes she wanted a little rough sex. That's fine. But I'm pretty sure she didn't bargain for what she ended up getting, and had no idea what was in store for her.

Now if this was a ploy to extort money from him then I'm willing to rethink my stance on this, although I still think the level of abuse was beyond extreme. There's rough sex, and then there's Bauer's idea of rough sex. Two completely different definitions.

Reading the description of what happened, I'd be shocked if she's lying. But agree with you - if this is a scam for a pay day, fuck her. Innocent until proven guilty is an excuse for you to say shit like "can't jail a guy every time a woman asks you to slap her around".... As for innocent until proven guilty, that is the way of the land. But that doesn't mean that he can't be held until his court date. The thing that gets me with the innocent until proven guilty is the main stream media will try and convict him in the press before any evidence has been presented. Anyone that keeps up on the news (in any format) will never get a fair trial.

But then again, when similar allegations were raised against Cobie Bryant in the 90's about assulting a woman, he was tried and found guilty in the press, then it all went away (big payday for the woman), and he still made the Hall of Fame.

I think it is insane she sent those texts to a guy she barely knew. Gimme pain and choke me out is WELL beyond my definition of rough sex. I also OBVIOUSlY think that if he caused all those injuries he lost his mind and went well beyond what any rational person would consider rough sex.

Has Bauer denied causing those injuries specifically? If not, i'd think it's safe to say he's guilty. Otherwise, although there is a burden of proof, it would seem the circumstantial evidence is still strong enough to convict.

When it comes to being a public figure, particularly in the entertainment business where you are under contract representing an organization different standards apply. It's not just about guilt or innocence, it's about image. Particularly when it comes to violence against women.

I haven't followed this thing, but the dodgers are not obligated to continue to allow him to represent their organization until he is actually convicted of a crime

It does have some interesting legal aspects. Is agreement to "rough" sex an agreement to be assaulted? If she was rendered unconscious then an agreement would be mute. You can't have an agreement with someone who's unconscious. And yeah, even if charges are not filed she could still bring a civil case and probably clean up. And I thought I was prone to risky behavior... unbelievable

Isn't it rather hypocritical that both MLB and the NFL bend over backwards (pardon me if that offends anyone) in their lip service (again, pardon me) toward women's issues and then basically do nothing but a slap on the wrist when one of the "boys" does something heinous with a woman. We have on one hand a star QB who is under investigation of 23 sexual assault charges and now a MLB star who is being investigated for sexual assault as well. If convicted, the leagues will just slap them on the wrist and let them come back after serving their "time."

So lets all wear pink, or whatever color is in this week. Tell the general public we're taking a stand. Then go about business as usual because, after all, boys will be boys! Nothing will change and the phony process will continue.
