Wow. A very reasonable deal actually. If freakin Minnesota can attract Carlos Correa....What's up Seattle?
Let's just hope Management ponies up when our boys show playoff promise come deadline deals.

Maybe something to consider -

Miguel Sano, Gary Sanchez and Jorge Polanco are all from the Dominican Republic and are all about the same age as Correa.

I wouldn't be surprised if Correa was heavily recruited by these guys and they convinced him to give MN a chance.

The M's don't have much of a Domincan influence outside of JRod and 2x bullpen guys.

Is there some kind of industry boycott by players to avoid Seattle? Or is it just that Jerry Dipoto doesn't engage fully with hitters? A free agent ss class for the ages, a genuine need at the position and the Mariners come up empty, preferring to stand pat with JP Crawford and his 102 ops+, .273 batting avg and three stolen bases. Cool.

Maybe next year when Trea Turner hits the market alongside (probably) Carlos Correa, we'll put in a real offer?

Dtrain and Dion discuss this and JRod and the 5th starter spot in the latest edition of the podcast:

I think he sticks to his guns. I believe he was talking with Marcus and the numbers got to high in years.

This guy just got hurt, Ben Rortvedt.... rookie catcher the Yanks picked up in trade with the Twins. Looks like he's pretty ripped.

Pretty safe bet... What about J Ram or Reynolds?

Is that an 11 cocktail limit per person, or total for the group?

Long-term contracts for top free agents often do not work out:

The Seattle front office presumably knows that.

And yet, sometimes they do. Think Nelson Cruz.

How about any contract, Correa wasn't a long term contact. And the FO suddenly decided that after their big buildup to the off season?

Oh and if I felt like digging them up long term contracts have actually faired pretty well, choose your study
