Well their theory is that by the deadline Goldy will be back to form regaining some trade value - but not to the extent that they are hoping, lol. We would never trade Woo for that guy. We might trade him or Hancock for Alonso but that would be the only player I see doing that for.
Even Alonso at this point of his season is a stretch with his current performance

He's hitting .230/.314/.461/.774 with 9 homers, 24 RBI, and a 124 OPS+.

I'm not sure how it would feel like a stretch adding that to this lineup...

Last I looked he was 0.215 and not that many homers

Dunno if the trade is comparable in terms of what the M’a give up, but I would much rather get Mason Miller from the A’s. He’s a beast, he’s due to become a FA next season, and the A’s aren’t going anywhere this season either. He would be a top tier closer.

Miller is nit a FA until 2030.

So I would think the price would be something like what we would have expected for Brash Munoz. I would think 2 top 5 prospects and a couple of 10 to 30 list fillers.

Sort of like the Edwin Diaz trade - the same sort of prospect haul for an equivalent "closer of of the future" kind of guy.

Astros have won 5 straight and are now in 3rd place. 5 back with about 120 games to go.

Seems that it would have been smart for the M's to not totally shit the bed offensively for the first 50 games...

Any trade is going to have the M’s not spend anymore money or eat contracts. If Stanton’s wallet isn’t fatting it ain’t happening.

Dipoto has been known to make a trade once in awhile

But when is the last trade he made that made us better?
