Yeah, Holliday is projected to move to 3rd. I don't think he'd be considered the consensus number one pick if he was projected as fringe there

Looks like we could get this kid from Mt. Vernon. That would be amazing.

https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects ... ier+Neyens
They have a complete year of growth, data, and injuries to sort through. But I Iooked at a couple of top 5s and top 10s as well today.

I just can't believe the good fortunes the last few years in the drafts. Julio gets us another 1st round pick which had us picking 3 in the 1st round. Now this year we get a comp round A pick #33 which is basically a late 1st rounder. But the #3 pick has so much slot value associated this year's may be even worth more than the that 2023 draft. Do you remember what it was off hand I am thinking we had 4-5 in the top 60 and 5 or 6 in the top 100. (4 in top 60, 5 in top 100)

MLB .com 2025 draft rank
1. Ethan Holiday SS/2B Overall: 60

Ever since Jackson Holliday went No. 1 overall in the 2022 Draft, he has told people that his younger brother is better than he was at the same stage. Ethan is more physical and powerful than Jackson and much more closely resembles their father, seven-time All-Star Matt.

2. Jace LaViolette CF 6'6" 230# Judge light? also a 60 grade

3. Jamie Arnold LHP Florida State another 60 grade

#4,5 a couple of RHP one college one HS both 60 grades

#6-17 all grade out as a 55 overall but 2 that I would like to point out are:

#8 Xavier Neyens 3B Mount Vernon (WA) - - 18 6' 4" / 200 lbs

#9 Kruz Schoolcraft LHP/1B Sunset (OR) - - 17 6' 8" / 229 lbs A cross between Randy Johnson and Freddie Freeman? Sign me up. He is a lefty hitter and pitcher.

#7 Aiva Arquette 2B Oregon State Also UW - - 21 6' 4" / 220 lbs R

Right now, my top 2 are the top 2 but then? I mean right now I would probably go with 3-7-8-9. Ethan is my #1 with Jace a close #2.

Nothing but good news.

Here's someone's mock draft, plus we get a competitive balance pick right after the 1st round.
Don't screw this up, Jerry.
History says only a small percentage of these names will ever play in a MLB game, much less be a frontliner or star.
Don't fuck this up, Jerry.

I know we're not supposed to look at it this way but it sure would be nice to have a lefty in the rotation to break up all the righty's we currently have.

I looked at some video of Holliday hitting and he looks fine but maybe a bit stiff. He's a young kid though and I would guess his hitter brain and nervous system hasn't caught up to his size yet. Regardless, I don't think it's a slam dunk that he goes 1/1.
