Man, almost noon and still nothing. The longer they wait the more chance they don't fire him.

He was talking specifically about game daysSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:09 pmSo he was only talking about days when there are games? I thought he meant every day, which is considerably worse.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:59 pmThat's pretty typical for event parking.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:56 pm
He referred to it as "my tiny little parking garage across the street" so does that mean he personally owns it and gets all the revenue? And who would pay $30-50 a day to park?

It just goes to show how little upper management for middling teams in professional sports care about fielding winner versus turning a consistent profit.
I honestly think M's management likes their current situation. They like that the team isn't seen as a winner and fans show up any way... means they can just go ahead and penny pinch with no repercussions... they can sell all the $25 sushi rolls and $15 beers they want to 20,000 + fans a night and turn a profit they're comfortable with.
And here's the problem with fielding a consistent winner: it adds pressure because the expectations are different. Now... they might make more money, but why change the status quo if they're perfectly content? Why do that if the current business model isn't challenged and makes the old, white investors pockets plenty full?

As fans we need to make a statement and quit investing our time and money in them, especially if Mather stays. He would be backtracking a lot more if they lose a bunch of moneyIStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:40 pmIt just goes to show how little upper management in professional sports care about fielding winner versus turning a consistent profit.

Not only that but when fans see something wrong, some are programmed to defend the management or the terrible player instead of asking for their replacement.

Most of the people on the long list have no right to be offended. He said a couple stupid things, that part is true.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:46 pmYou mean kinda like how you have defended Mather all day? Lol
