Call it chemistry, moral, call it what you want. Imagine playing on this team in 2020 and 2021? Knowing you could probably make the playoffs, but also knowing that isn’t even close to the goal, the organization doesn’t fucking care if you do, and they will actually make moves for the next year or two before they make one fo now.

I swear, this makes no fucking sense. Football, baseball, basketball...who fucking cares. You people act like you have never heard of positive or negative culture winning out. This group of players knows the organization cares more about the farm and team control than winning this year. Zero chance those emotions didn’t effect in field play. Zero.
I agree they were pissed. I just don't think it cost them any games. Sorry, I will never be convinced otherwise.

First Astro game - We were losing 8-4 before Toro hit a two run bomb
Second Astro game - Got blown out 11-4
First Ranger game - Hey we won 8-3 so I guess we overcame the negative emotions
Second Ranger game - Castillo blew it even though he wasn't even on the team during the trade and probably had never even met Graveman
Third Ranger game - Swanson blew it. This one I concede. Graveman probably gives us a win
1st Rays game - Hey we won again
2nd Rays game - Ditto
3rd Rays game - Ok now we are 9 days after the trade.....are we still using that excuse?
1-3 vs. the Yankees at Yankee stadium. Is that some shocking unexpected result?

So, they were winning at a clip of about 55%, and it's now 33%. But, you just don't know. What would you say if they were winning?

Its pretty easy for you here right?. If the stats back you, it makes you right. If they don't...well, we just don't know.

The facts are, they were winning, the organization yet again made moves that show they don't give a shit about right now...the players got pissed, and they are no longer winning.

Texas beat us twice. They haven't won since.

As for the Yankees? Thursday all I heard was they were decimated by COVID and we were looking good. Now? Lose three of four, and you say..."yep, that's what I expected".

When they never make it back to 9 games over, as you promised me they would. Will there be a litany of excuses for games they lost, that you expected...even though you expected them to finish better than 9 over?

Okay let's say the Mariners FO gave up on them. That pissed them off, I can buy that. What I can't buy is that being a reason for them to try less harder to win. That's what makes no sense to me. If anything, if I'm on that team I'd be even harder to win, show them they were wrong to doubt me.

Honestly Michael, you seem like a competitive guy to me. I mean this sincerely. I don't think you're quiting because someone gave up on you

The Mets have lost 7 out of 8, so you all think the Graveman trade has affected them or was it Javier bringing the Cub curse with him
This has to qualify as the dumbest post I've ever read on any sport board anywhere, and that's saying something.
It was obviously sarcasm but even if it wasn't it wouldn't be much dumber than thinking we were losing games because we no longer have our spiritual and inspirational leader on the team.
Obvioulybis Sarcasm, point was Mets went out and traded and have nothing but losses. Trades don’t work all the time either direction and not because feeling were hurt

Or maybe? The Mets now have a bad mix of attitudes in the clubhouse? Isn’t that just as likely? Did the Mets reach out to reporters about how their team doesn’t care about winning? You people read direct quotes from guys inside the fucking locker room, and it STILL isn’t enough evidence?

No wonder this franchise makes money win or lose. Yikes.

Evidence of what? What does that have to do with the players attitude towards winning, that's what I don't understand.

I agree Donn, whine about management not wanting to win but each player has their own pride about their own play along with their stats mean money for them. I doubt they throw in towel either. May change their attitude if they want to be around in long run but shouldn’t change performance.

We will never know? So, if they had been winning, would you allow people to say their negative emotions effected their play, but they are winning anyway? What we know is they are now 3.5 games worse in the WC race and have lost 8 of 12!

The players were angry about the trade because they felt it made it harder for them to win. How that gets interpreted as them trying less hard to win is beyond me.

The issue is did it make it harder or not. I doubt with the production of their new teammate Abraham Toro they are spending their time sitting around complaining
