The players were angry about the trade because they felt it made it harder for them to win. How that gets interpreted as them trying less hard to win is beyond me.

The issue is did it make it harder or not. I doubt with the production of their new teammate Abraham Toro they are spending their time sitting around complaining

And, there is evidence to support it as they went from a team 9 games over to one that loses two of every three. BUT, that evidence doesn't support some people's theory, so it is an "unknown". What I am passionate about is that this organization yet again did nothing to improve a contending team....this time the players called them out on in. And there are still many fans that are OK with that bullshit. I am rather certain we will be having this exact same discussion next year. And more than likely? The year after. I do NOT share many of your opinions that the saviors are down on the farm, or hitting below .200 here. This team is in trouble, the "talent" we have been waiting on? Seems to be very similar to what we have seen before. They are pretty damn good, before they play at the highest level.

We traded for a guy who was EXACTLY that in Houston. He has proven for about 12 games to NOT be that guy. But? We have seen that before right? Yet Jerry thought that one game out? Was the time to trade the now for the future.

No most people like DT and others will admit that Graveman gone possibly cost a loss but will never know because it wasn’t played. Your opinion leaves no room for other possibilities other then you are 100% right. You are so infatuated that you don’t even recognize the sarcasm dripping. Take time to look at whole picture not just your side. Explain the Mets losing 7-8 obviously their management has gone way above to be competitive. Losing happens because it is a game, it is why it is played because outcomes are different then expectations.

I was looking at the advanced stats and, oddly, while Toro's average exit velocity has remained virtually the same, his hard-hit ball rate (balls hit 95 mph or greater) has gone from 30.3% to 38.9%. And, even weirder, his GB to FB ratio has flipflopped from 1.38 with Houston this year to 0.63 with Seattle.

He is taking full advantage of the opportunity.... maybe all he needed was a nudge

I think Jay's got a point. It had to be exciting to go from fully blocked and withering in Houston to an every day, happy to have ya, shot at an every day role. Breathed some life into the kid.

Like somebody pointed out he will probably settle down, but he seems to be a capable bat to replace Seager for 1/30th the cost. Or, a pretty decent 2B bat, either way.

Not sure I'd swap Toro out for Jonathan Schoop who just got a pretty fair extension at $7.5M. That's a good sign at least

Toro had played full time in Houston since June 17th. 28 out of 29 games with 109 Plate appearances.
