He is taking full advantage of the opportunity.... maybe all he needed was a nudge
I think Jay's got a point. It had to be exciting to go from fully blocked and withering in Houston to an every day, happy to have ya, shot at an every day role. Breathed some life into the kid.

Like somebody pointed out he will probably settle down, but he seems to be a capable bat to replace Seager for 1/30th the cost. Or, a pretty decent 2B bat, either way.

Not sure I'd swapp Toro out for Jonathan Schoop who just got a pretty fair extension at $7.5M. That's a good sign at least
Toro had played full time in Houston since June 17th. 28 out of 29 games with 109 Plate appearances.
Which indicates what?

He was refuting my point that he struggled due to lack of consistent playing time which is valid.

He went from an injury fill in, to starting job. It's not rocket science.

Not to mention, it is only reasonable that least one out of a 1000 players actually get better when they put on an M's jersey. :)

Nonsense. Playing everyday is playing every day. You can't make that kind of argument and simultaneously dismiss Michael K's "poor performance because they were pissed off theory"

Lol, ok, whatever you think Cap.

I'm sure knowing your days are numbered and he'd be gone as soon as another guy got healthy meant nothing to him.

And I'm not really discounting Michael's theory. I'm sure we do have a few players that had their panties in a twist. It's the entitled culture biting the hand that feeds them. The players were wrong for it. Meanwhile new guy Toro was carrying their mopey asses.

In other words, his emotional state effected his play?

I did add an edit-

The history of professional sports is literally full of all time greats that got their first taste of things as injury replacements and never looked back. There is a certain NFL QB with 7 super bowl rings who replaced am injured bro bowl QB and never looked back.

That would be awesome if we had a Bro Bowl. 😀
