Guessing Arroyo didn't play much in 2020 either. If you are referring to the incredible knowledge imparted by the hitting instructors in this org then I have to laugh a bit at that.
He probably played about a much as any other 16 year old. Is it possible for you to simply be excited about a prospect without having to put a negative spin on it and drag 2 others down at the same time?
I'm not dragging him down, he is dragging himself down and like I said he might tear up Ark and Edwin can't hit in EVE and they are reversed again.

btw Marte had 299 Pro PAs before getting to Modesto and Arroyo only had about 150. I try to be objective instead of just going with rainbow and pixie dust analysis.
He's developing. There are going to be ups and downs. Arroyo will likely have those as well. Almost every post about Arroyo you have to talk about how Ford or Marte agent doing well. You think you are trying to be objective them piss on someone because their objective opinion is different than yours. It's completely reasonable to say that Marte was just as good this point last year and comparing ages isn't a great comparison with covid screwing things up.

Prospect rankings are fun, but ultimately they are pointless. Just let things play out and the players will develop on their own pace and trajectory. Julio is the exception where the only struggles he had in his development was a 2 week blip to start the season his first don't in the MLB.

If they, their family or friends were here on this forum I would be nicer but the aren't so I think it is fine to have honest discussions. If you don't compare guys then you are assessing in a vacuum. It would be like me saying O Keefe is a great prospect because he is a catcher hitting over .300 and Ford is a terrible prospect because he is hitting under .300. Context is never a bad thing.

Agree we need to wait for years on these guys so I guess we should just shut down this thread and only start threads when a guy gets promoted to Seattle or quits baseball.

I just think the constant negativity is draining. I don't think that makes someone a better fan. Glaser was adding context as well and you called him a clown.

Civility has taken a beating on the World Wide Web. I try not to use language I wouldn't use if I was dealing with someone personally.

Oh yeah, Glaser is such Rose colored glasses type guy. lol
Joe (CT):

Are you concerned by Noelvi Marte's start to the season?

Kyle Glaser: Yes. The main concern is how out of shape Marte has gotten. It's affected every part of his game. It's made him a significantly worse defender whose chances of staying at shortstop have basically dropped to zero, his arm stroke has been really ugly and his swing has gone backwards, too. He's going to drop quite a bit in the updated Top 100 coming out this week.

Ok, going forward I will delete every post on this thread that isn't signing the praises of one of our prospects.

That misses Don Beach's point all together.

Fans have every right to question moves made by sports teams. The problem is that too many fans cannot distinguish between questioning moves and attacking moves with vitriol.

Many fans on this forum probably know 10 times as much about baseball as their mothers-in-law know. However, many fans do not realize that they probably don't know one-tenth what the typical MLB front office knows. A front office has a wealth of information unavailable to even the most avid fan. Forum posters too often make snap judgments based on small samples when analytics have shown that larger samples provide better results.

When the Seattle front office makes a puzzling move I feel free to question that move knowing that I don't have the same information the front office has. At times in my profession I need to patiently explain matters to laypeople who lack my knowledge and expertise. I wish Jerry Dipoto were available at my disposal to answer the questions of this simple fan.

This forum is appropriately open to fans with all level of baseball knowledge. The less-experienced fans can learn from the contributions of the more seasoned followers. I know the forum has educated me and I hope others have gained knowledge from my contributions.

Employers should be reluctant to hire this forum's posters who complain and complain without offering realistic solutions. That's not the employee I want in my workplace.

This forum is long on name-calling and profanity but short on substance and civility. Other sports forums share those negative characteristics but this forum sinks to the bottom of the barrel. Behind the security of a computer screen posters can say things that would get their asses kicked in person.

Let me step down off my soapbox. ;)

I don't even share my opinions on here most of the time because I know most people just will bitch and complain because it's different than how they see things. Like of I don't think Scott Servais is the worst manager in the history of the world, or that every single move he makes is stupid, I must be related to him.
