Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
I use firefox and I see blank posts from dt quite regularly. Was starting to wonder if it was his way of building up his post count

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
You can tell if they're actually blank by hitting reply, then the link is usually in the reply box.

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Interesting development situation unfolding in Modesto.
If you haven't been paying attention to 19-year-old SS Felnin Celesten, honestly, why not and what are you doing? Not to get too hyperbolic here, but he's our savior. OK, so that was hyperbolic. Seriously tho, this kid is the real deal.
Current stat line: So a .370 avg and a .450 on-base. Celesten in low A is just a man amongst boys.
So when does he move and is it just one level?
I'm interested here b.c the M's could do the easy thing which would be just move him to Everett and High A now, have he and Emerson split SS duties with the other playing 3B or getting an occasional DH day while you either sit Suisbel, move him to 1B or send him down to Modesto? OR you could do the fascinating thing which would be to jump Celesten to AA, shoot him ahead of Emerson to a team that really doesn't have a SS prospect of any worth and let him play the entire season at AA.
Why not? You must believe that his game is close to ready for that level, that he's going to be there soon regardless, why pussyfoot around? Just send him up there and let him play. This kid will adapt. Sometimes you just need to challenge guys and let them rise to it. The way I look at it, he's going to be in AA this yr at some pt, why not just put him there now and really get his feet settled with 100 games at that level?

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
I expect they'll move him to Everett and push Emerson to 3B. This is assuming he can stay healthy. He already disappeared from the lineup for about 10 days, though he didn't show up on the IL. Maybe they were just being cautious with him.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 5:29 pmInteresting development situation unfolding in Modesto.

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Apparently he fouled a ball off his foot. He missed 4 gms.
Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
He is already our #1 prospect.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 5:29 pmInteresting development situation unfolding in Modesto.

Switch hitting great defensive SS hitting .370 with almost a 1.000 OPS. That is the perfect baseball player right there.

Emerson isn't doing much in A ball so I would probably do it but no way in hell they will.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 5:29 pmInteresting development situation unfolding in Modesto.
