I giveSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 11:15 pmBy tomorrow night, I very much hope these players are not on the Mariners:
Weston Wilson
Leo Rivas
Victor Robles
Michael Rucker
Donovan should be back.
The M's should have traded for a right-handed outfielder.
The M's should have traded for a bullpen arm.
These have got to be some of the most aggressive left/right splits of all time. Can anyone name the player?

If I'm trading Kirby to cubs the only name I want back is PCA. Otherwise fuck off

The Cubs just traded for Kevin Gauseman.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 1:45 amIf I'm trading Kirby to cubs the only name I want back is PCA. Otherwise fuck off
They aren't trading the best player in the National League for George Kirby.
But hey, great work.

PCA has a value of $405M vs $37M for Kirby.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 1:45 amIf I'm trading Kirby to cubs the only name I want back is PCA. Otherwise fuck off

With the Cubs trading for Gausman, I think Kirby stays for now. If that's the case, then the decision on how to open up a spot for Kade Anderson gets pushed to the offseason, and in that scenario I could see Gilbert being the one that gets moved if he doesn't sign an extension. There's the pending lockout as well, which will obviously complicate things.

What about Seiya Suzuki and a couple prospects for Kirby?D-train wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 2:22 amPCA has a value of $405M vs $37M for Kirby.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 1:45 amIf I'm trading Kirby to cubs the only name I want back is PCA. Otherwise fuck off

Along with Los Angeles Angels starters Reid Detmers and José Soriano, the Cubs are also interested in Seattle Mariners starters George Kirby and, to a lesser extent, Emerson Hancock. To swing a deal of that magnitude would require a significant amount of prospect capital.
The Cubs seem willing to do that for the right pitcher, but they’re still looking at rental starters as well, a group that includes Clay Holmes and Brady Singer. Getting Gausman from the Blue Jays cost the Cubs two prospects, Triple-A outfielder Brett Bateman and Class-A infielder Ty Southisene.

Brewers looked like the World Series favorites imo. Skubal probably gives an edge to the Dodgers now.
Re: Official MLB Trade Deadline Thread (Rumors and Ideas Welcome)
Isn't it quite possible or even likely they were listening to offers on Kirby, Hancock, and Castillo but NEVER had any intention of trading two of them because it would leave them with Zero depth and now that Castillo is gone, the other two are off the market. Anyone even consider that??? Nope.
Zero chance we trade another starter today.

Tell me who on the Cubs is worth Kirby????? Kind of important don't you think? And if you think the are going to roll with zero SP depth and Kade on a strict innings limit I don't know what to tell you. lolGL_Storm wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 3:15 amWith the Cubs trading for Gausman, I think Kirby stays for now.
