Well stated, Michael. And it's what we get when all we have in the media is a propaganda machine! If the media would begin to call out the organization for it's mediocrity, it may change their business model.
Careful...didn't Divish do that? There were even fans mad he reported that news. Odd, since I would think we would want reporters that give us news, not let the organization create the news.

It's OK, just listen to Dreyer tell us how great everything is, Blowers tell stories while the other guy yucks it up about it and Krueger tell us how we were just beaten by the second coming of Cy Young! Angie what ever her name is actually opened up the post game last night by saying "The Mariners win their sixth straight one run game." She is so predisposed to be positive, she changed the word lose to win!

Phillies have made the playoffs in a decade. One WS title in 41 years.
Mets haven't made the playoffs in 5 years. Haven't won a WS in 35 years
Yankees have won a WS in 12 years
White Sox and Cubs have a combined 2 WS titles in the past combined 217 years.

Lots of reasons this franchise sucks but the media isn't one of them imo.

I think the notion that the owners don't want to win or that they are unwilling to spend to win is nonsense. This team spent the better part of a decade from 2001 -2010 in the top 10 in spending. Even as recently as opening day 2018 they were 8th in payroll. The issue has been the people who they have hired to make the personnel decisions have been inept. The one time they hired a competent GM they made the playoffs 4 out of 7 years. Other than that they have hired a bunch of buffoons who spent money on all the wrong guys and drafted a bunch of losers with top 5 draft picks. I am not sure how you fix that other than getting more fortunate with whom you hire as a GM.

Sounds like a good assessment to me

Yup, and I might add the narrative that they are more interested in making money than winning. Winning is as good a business as not winning.
