At least 4 teams interested in Geno. You are not getting him for freaking Tai Peete or Morales and a couple of scrubs..

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/seattle-mariners
But you are not sending a Soto package are you? Pete is a 1st round pick. He is a top 100 adjacent type of prospect. If they packed up a couple of more top 30 prospects that is an overpay. Geno is a rental. Geno is being paid at a pro-rate of 12M. Geno is having the best season of his career. But there is a history of players being traded on rental contracts wilting in the wind post trade.

Adam Frazier
126 OPS+ in Pit > 86 OPS+ in SD

Josh Bell
DC 152 OPS+> SD 73 OPS+ and -0.5 WAR

Even Soto
DC 158 OPS+ Padres 127 OPS+

I am pro trade for Geno, but pretending that he is going to grab a premium package that I would offer for an underpaid controlled player like Skenes, CJ Abrams, etc. is over the moon ridiculous. Nothing in the top 6.
Peete can't hit A Ball pitching. His K rates are horrid. He will never hit Big league pitching and the D Backs know that.

Also, if they close out Woo's brilliant outing vs NYY, they don't give up 2 runs on JPs error in Woo's start vs TEX, they get a proper strike 3 call in that 1st gm at San Fran and find a timely hit in either the recent KC game that was a 3-2 loss or in that 2-1 loss vs HOU back in APR, that's an easy 4 Ws that should've been and the record is 55-41 and 57.3 percent

I am sure we can find four games we should have lost that we won as well.

That's baseball as they same.
Haha, if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. Excusing them doing nothing because we coulda woulda shoulda won more? Weak shit, and exactly the reason there is NEVER any heat on these fuckers to win. We should be thanking the front office is what we should be doing. Five playoff games in two and a half decades, and we should be thanking them because IF a few games went differently we’d have been better. Holy shit.
There it is!!!!

Maybe he is bluffing but this is the 54% philosophy in action.

The M's are sitting at 53.6% right now. 54% won't be enough to make the playoffs unless it's in the 3rd also ran spot. And even if they get into the playoffs, they won't come out of the first round as winners.
The need to get WC1 for HFA. Then they would be favored to win the first playoff series. We are 1 game back of the Yankees for it.

If we sweep the astros, and we should. We will be just 2 back of them. The Astros look like shit now with all their injuries and we need to take advantage of that. It sounds like Pena is days away from returning. Yordan weeks away. The pitching is on the mend to.

You just described the season of every single team in the entire history of Major League Baseball.
that's the beauty of a 162 game season, you should end were you deserve to end up.
Absolutely. Even the 2001 team that only lost 46 games could come up with 4 losses like that, starting with the blown 12-run lead at Cleveland.

If they don't land Geno it's about this biggest failure of all time.

AZ told teams he's available today. He needs to be an M by the end of this Astros series.
lol - that happens only if Dip allows himself to be bent over. If the AZ GM is smart - he takes the next 12-13 days to pit us/skanks/anyone who needs a 3B against each other to get the best package he can for him. It's not as though its a fire sale and whomever suggests a decent deal will get it done in the next day or so.

Geno is a good add but if this team wants to win they need more than that.
More? This team has 4 All-Stars. It's coming off a month in which it delivered the best offensive production in all of baseball and now the pitching is rounding into form. It's nice to be greedy but it's also a sin. I wouldn't complain about a Geno add on a cheap offer, or an SP add for a reasonable price, but I'd also be more than fine with standing pat. This team is hitting its stride and you don't need to mess with it. Plenty of reinforcements in the minors with Rivas, Taylor, Lao, Kowar and Locklear. Plus Robles nearing his return in about 5 weeks
lol ok Dip!!
