When you look at Jerry’s roster construction it gets a little scary. We have four players, Randy, Cal, Julio and JC who would make the other contending teams. I’m talking non pitchers. Not a great recipe for playoff success

Exactly. So many M's fans on Twitter or our Seattle sportstalk radio hosts talking about Geno like he was God's Gift to Seattle. Dude sucked when he was here.

And I'm so sick and tired having of the pessimistic thinking that guys are going to fall off so drastically that we need these great reinforcements who are immune to falling off.

I already pointed out that we have some options in the pipeline not to mention Victor Robles come back. There's Locklear, Ford, Montes and Arroyo who are all knocking on the door or walking up the driveway at least
4.1 and 2.4 WAR seasons but he sucked...

We pretty much all wanted him gone. The issue when he was here his last year was that he would hit for 1-2 games and then take the rest of the week off. He seems to have fixed that to some degree this year in that it looks like he only disappears for 2-3 games before he produces again. People want him back because of that but nobody forgets why we dropped him in the first place - we were all glad about it and hoped the team would replace him with someone better - sadly they did not.

Duran from Boston seems to be on the block - any interest in him?

I suppose. But where do you play him? His value is CF. We’re pretty set on LH corner OF’s.

Guess it has to do with Roman Anthony coming up - too many outfielders so he has been seen as a trade candidate. Not sure how much of an upgrade he would be over Canzone though - or put him in left field and DH Arozarena.

Oh look, another WAR obsessed fool. Nevermind his 410 Ks and 103 ops+

And to clarify, I'm not saying he'll suck over the final 2 months and change, because he's clearly a changed player right now vs '23, but I take serious issue with these fans that are/were pissed he was traded. He wasn't good. He was barely average and had major holes in his swing at the time.

Agree with you on this, he wasn't very productive in 2023, was obviously declining (for the second time in his career at that) and we've had WAY too much experience in recent years with acquiring players one year too late. Probably nine times out of ten a player like him is at the end of his career by now. Replacing him at the time was the right move. Unfortunately, replacing him with Josh Rojas was not.
