His value might be a little lower but he has had one bad month after two good years. Not a big deal. I don't think he would have ever got us a top 3 MLB prospect.BaseHitDerby wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 1:49 amShould've sold high on him during the offseason. Might've got 3 top prospects. They should've did a full rebuild instead of this partial.

and he isn't traded yet...I think this is where Dipoto runs up against the owners
Re: Haniger to the Phillies????
Yep, trading him would mean white flag on the partial rebuild.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 1:57 amand he isn't traded yet...I think this is where Dipoto runs up against the owners

Re: Haniger to the Phillies????
Dumb move to spend $56M on KK when the team is rebuilding and Dipoto can get those kind of SPs easily on the FA market. I wanted them to do a full rebuild, save the profit, and spend big in several years when the team could contend.
Re: Haniger to the Phillies????
Have to have a token Japanese player to keep the only streak thats longer than the non playoffs streak alive. 21 years and counting.......BaseHitDerby wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:08 amDumb move to spend $56M on KK when the team is rebuilding and Dipoto can get those kind of SPs easily on the FA market. Yeah, I thought at the time it had a lot to do with marketing the team.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:11 amHave to have a token Japanese player to keep the only streak thats longer than the non playoffs streak alive. 21 years and counting.......BaseHitDerby wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:08 amDumb move to spend $56M on KK when the team is rebuilding and Dipoto can get those kind of SPs easily on the FA market. Re: Haniger to the Phillies????
It depends on the time frame, but I'd try to trade Dee to them for a PTBNL - include some cash.

Re: Haniger to the Phillies????
he said that before the season...so did Dipoto create the need for a tear down himself?...
"But just the fact I named those guys -- Dee, Robbie, Kyle Seager, Mike Zunino, James Paxton, Marco, Haniger … there's so much talent on the club that we don't view ourselves as a teardown candidate. We're just trying to figure out how over the course of these next 1-3 years we can maximize the potential of this roster while building something that has a chance for sustainability."

It's kinda hard how Dipoto viewed Dee, Seager, Zunino, and Marco as good players. Plus, he traded Robbie and Paxton. So, that left Haniger as the only good player on the team. Seems like Dipoto is a good salesman.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:21 amhe said that before the season...so did Dipoto create the need for a tear down himself?...

It's crazy how many players on that list were once MsD-train wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 4:23 pmSwear to God I did not see this before starting the thread.
