Any kid wearing a Yankee (or anything but a Mariner) cap, and reaching out to the ballgirl for a foul ball should be summarily ignored.

I remember when we were talking about Vogie vs JD Martinez for All-Star DH and I said it can't be just stats, you have to account for the players' career arcs and general reputations. This is a perfect example of that.

Has this team Ever beaten Tanaka?

I can’t recall one time.

Like lapdogs.

...and to close off tonight’s game, in the post game wrap up, Dave Valle created a new entry to the English language: ‘historicity’.

The man’s skin is getting too tight for his skull.

I have roughly determined the odds of Vogey’s reaching the vaunted Mendoza are not good.

He’d have to average .136 with 110 more at bats, getting 15 hits.
well he is hitting .125 in August 8 for 64. at that pace he would need 88 more AB's to drop below .200

The was the logic you used when predicting a 100 loss season. Hopefully he pulls his head out of his ass.

I didn't predict they would lose 100 I said it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. Same applies here. I am not predicting that he will hit .200 just saying that he wouldn't have to be unimaginably worse than he already has been to make it happen.

If Vogey is considered a building block, the foundation really sucks

Career against the Mariners 8-0, 1.89 ERA, 0.813 WHIP
At SafeCo/T-Mobile 5-0, 1.43 ERA, 0.705 WHIP

He's like the right-handed version of Brett Anderson in the difference between his career stats and his against-the-Mariners-stats.
