Seems like a Dipoto decision, what do you guys think?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 7:53 pmWell, nothing is guaranteed and Miller could have laid an egg, it was just a lot more unlikely that he would have. I still can't believe management made that stupid decision. Once they did that, the game became predetermined and fate was going to make the umpire stupid in the Gnats' favor.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 5:56 am100DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:44 amIt's impossible to quantify how many wins management will add or subtract from a team's win total, but i think that today we can say with almost 100% certainty that management cost us one by inexplicably putting Castilo out there when it was completely unnecessary.

Could well be. I always would have thought it would be a managerial decision, but after seeing Moneyball where Billy Beane was telling Art Howe what to do made me wonder if GMs make on-field decisions.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 7:31 amSeems like a Dipoto decision, what do you guys think?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 7:53 pmWell, nothing is guaranteed and Miller could have laid an egg, it was just a lot more unlikely that he would have. Of course it was. He thinks given an extra day rest will automatically keep guys healthier even though it gets them out of their normal routine and rhythm. When we had a 6 man rotation a few years ago we had like 6 pitchers get injured in 2 months.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 7:31 amSeems like a Dipoto decision, what do you guys think?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 7:53 pmWell, nothing is guaranteed and Miller could have laid an egg, it was just a lot more unlikely that he would have. Don't know if it's so much a decision as it's a policy, I'd say everyone is in agreement
