I'll be honest. When the trade went down, my initial reaction was pissed off. I LOVED Nola. And the entire locker room did too. And the ONLY player coming back in the trade that I knew of was Trammell. I was on the fence at first, but it didn't take long for France to win me over. I'm trying to decide which jersey to buy next, France or JRod Show?!D-train wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 8:27 pmI FAR prefer production without the hype than vice versa like with Trammell. There were a lot of people that though that TT was the key piece of the trade. I did not.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 8:25 pmNo.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 8:21 pmWas France a highly rated prospect when we traded for him? The guy is quickly becoming a star
But he hung a nearly 1.250 OPS in AAA in 2019 with 27 bombs in just 76 games. Could argue he was a late bloomer who didn't get the respect as a prospect he deserved.

Oh they're definitely a playoff team, just not a World Series contender. They're an ace shy and about a Winker bat low to be considered a serious threat in the playoffsacctingman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 11:14 pmThis is a good M's team, but I just don't see this as a playoff team. Maybe next year?

This bullpen is beat the fuck up! But I've said it since Game 1 of the season, the Royals are good team. They have a really good lineup and they battled their asses off the last two nights. But we're a far deeper team and it showed! Do you think we could trade JK straight across for Benintendi?
Sorry Jarred, I love you, but you nearly cost us the game, again. His plate judgement was horrendous and cringe worthy to watch that last AB. I couldn't not help but think what if Haniger or Lewis were available on the bench, HELL, even Torrens!!
"Fuck Woke!"
I love it!

Yes, of course the Royals would take that deal. They wouldn't even have to think very hard about it.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:01 am

Re: Robbie Ray rakes Royals with relish... GT
JK is a fucking mystery to me right now. I've been making a point to watch all of his ABs. At sort of a big picture level, his problems are basically too many whiffs, a tendency to chase, and occasionally watching meatballs come down the middle.
A few days ago he had 4 ABs without a single whiff, and I was encouraged. But then the next day he went back to his free swinging ways, and so I was back to being frustrated with him. I wonder what sort of coaching he's getting and what the Mariners are telling him they want him to do. That's something we don't know. I do not and probably never will trust the Mariners when it comes to developing hitters. I honestly wonder if they're telling him to think power over contact, that they don't care about his batting average.
Looking at his heat maps for 2021 and 2022, the lower part of the strikezone is a real problem for him. His contact percentage is quite low at the bottom of the zone and just below. You know who isn't having that problem? Ty France, JP Crawford, Jesse Winker, Adam Frazier, Eugenio Suarez, Abraham Toro...
I think JK needs to think less about hitting home runs and more about plate coverage and hitting the ball where it's pitched. And with 2 strikes, I'd like to see him start fighting off pitches the way Jesse Winker did today. That 11-pitch AB was a thing of beauty.
And he needs to move closer to the plate. He's only 6'1" - not a giant with a power forward wingspan.

Yeah that was a great throw and huge at the time but man its like one step forward and two steps back at the plate with this guy. Like after Evan White's horrid rookie year he is so how even worse than he was last season!!!
