There was nobody worth Kirby at the deadline. I suppose there might be this off season but there is going to be a lockout so nothing's going to happen.
The offseason was always the more likely scenario for a Kirby trade, or Miller I suppose. One or the other has to go if you want to open a slot for Anderson. It's possible a trade could happen before the lockout starts, which I believe is December 1st.

Yeah but who or what are you trading for. Not another starter. Your middle infield is young. Cal & Naylor are already paid. Same with Julio. Laz probably has the inside track to RF. The only answer is 3B or closer. You still offering Mason Miller for Kirby? What 3B is worthy of Kirby?

Don't forget you still have Donovan to move around the diamond as well. Do you move Colt to 3B or keep him at SS. You want the best player possible. Out of these 3:

-CJ Abrams
-Otto Lopez
-Elly De La Cruz

Which is the most possible. Looking at WAR Otto has the lead there with a 4.5 WAR but the other 2 have higher WRC+. If I'm looking at SS for Kirby I definitely want a higher avg/obp as opposed to another power guy that's where Lopez fits in. It's also on the east coast where Kirby wants to go albeit Florida. Is Kirby worth any of these 3 as a straight across swap. We have depth & they could probably stand to use a TOR type starter. Out of the 3 he walks the fewest but strikesout the least too. Better chance of landing a SS as opposed to a 3B outside of Caminero of course.

Possible but that would be a blockbuster trade I'd be surprised if it came together that quickly.

It's irrelevant where Kirby wants to go you trade him for the best value. I think giving Colts initial debut with his Bat he needs to stay at shortstop to have significant value. So that would really surprise me especially happening in just a month before the lockout.
