So many M's fans on Twitter or our Seattle sportstalk radio hosts talking about Geno like he was God's Gift to Seattle. Dude sucked when he was here.
And I'm so sick and tired having of the pessimistic thinking that guys are going to fall off so drastically that we need these great reinforcements who are immune to falling off.
I already pointed out that we have some options in the pipeline not to mention Victor Robles come back. There's Locklear, Ford, Montes and Arroyo who are all knocking on the door or walking up the driveway at least
And to clarify, I'm not saying he'll suck over the final 2 months and change, because he's clearly a changed player right now vs '23, but I take serious issue with these fans that are/were pissed he was traded. He wasn't good. He was barely average and had major holes in his swing at the time.
What position players are going to be traded??

And the return was dog shit.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 10:42 pmAgree with you on this, he wasn't very productive in 2023, was obviously declining (for the second time in his career at that) and we've had WAY too much experience in recent years with acquiring players one year too late. Probably nine times out of ten a player like him is at the end of his career by now. Replacing him at the time was the right move. Unfortunately, replacing him with Josh Rojas was not.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 10:21 pmOh look, another WAR obsessed fool. Nevermind his 410 Ks and 103 ops+

I honestly can't believe people still buy into Jerry's BS about Ks.

Should we Jerry who once added Rojas and Urias WAR from their 2 best seasons for a combined over 250 games and said our 3B platoon could produce 6 WAR or Statistcians conducting sophisticated analysis at a University.

You forget Vogel wanted us to re-sign Josh Rojas AND Luis Urias who have accounted for a combined -0.7 fWAR and .200/.280/.300/.580 slash.

Re: What position players are going to be traded??
I'm sure this has been posted somewhere but if not... from Jude:
"Eugenio Suarez, the former Mariners third baseman in the midst of a career renaissance with the Arizona Diamondbacks, has emerged as baseball’s most coveted slugger ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.
And Suarez is, indeed, the No. 1 target target for a Mariners team motivated to bolster its chances of reaching the postseason for just the second time in 24 years.
Industry sources familiar with the club’s plans say the Mariners and Diamondbacks have engaged in preliminary discussions about Suarez, a leading candidate for the National League MVP whose 36 home runs this season trail only the 38 homers from the Mariners’ Cal Raleigh.
The Mariners, sources say, would prefer a reunion with Suarez over a trade for another Diamondbacks slugger, first baseman Josh Naylor, because of Seattle’s familiarity with Suarez and his popular “Good Vibes Only” ethos from his time with the Mariners in 2022 and ’23."

Yep he is a typical Half measure that Jerry loves so much.

I actually agree with them for once that Geno is by far the better target.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 12:21 amI'm sure this has been posted somewhere but if not... from Jude:
