The big question is if he can stay on the field. He's missed a lot of time. It isn't too late for him, but there's a case to be made to trade him in the right deal.
Remember reading an item on the mariners farm system the guy saying farmelo was one untouchable guy because you don't know what you have yet. That's the thing, you cant know what the right deal is
He has missed a lot of time but does have .350 PAs and a .805 OPS. Pretty good. I wouldn't say he is untouchable though. Emerson is rated WAY higher.
I don't think .805 is "pretty Good in A/A+ He is the same age as Montes and Arroyo and they put up .959 and .934 in Everett this year. Emerson is a year younger and pout up .842

.847 in the AFL this year but yeah I would have no problem with trading him.

AFL is full of nobodies. The only other M's prospect in their top 20 that is participating is Marcelo Perez. Not sure you can take too much from stats in that League. Its just a spot for people to get some extra reps.

The didn't use to be the case. It used to be prestigious to get picked but yeah I have noticed that lately. Farmelo is the 75th ranked prospect and a first round pick so I wouldn't call him a nobody.

Here this guy who put out a Top 100 prospect list with scouting reports explains why he left Farmelo off the list.

Under no circumstances should the M's trade Jonny Farmelo. Kid has 5-Tool potential player greatness written all over him. All other M's prospects are on the board.
Curious what it is about Farmello that leads you to that conclusion. I realize he is young but a .230 average, a .778 OPS and 2 Stolen Bases in Everett is not exactly screaming 5 tool player to me.
I just see greatness in him. I know the numbers haven't materialized yet, I also here that our scouts love his potential. And I trust them. So a little bit of both. Then again, I was completely wrong about Kelenic. You can't get them all right.

This is the ongoing issue I see with Jurrangelo Cijntje, the misconception. I don't believe his switch pitching should be an aspect to his evaluation in the first place. I don't believe it was a factor in them drafting him
