I actually don't give a crap about prospects, that to me is the most pie in the sky fluff a franchise can sell...just wait, we have these great players for you someday in the future...
ok hang your hat on Mallex Smith not being horrible defensively.

don't know about hanging my hat, he is the actual reality of the situation, he is the one that is here, seems to me you want them to have as much value as possible

i didn't see it, but i don't think he is talking about the entire season, he is talking about improving during the season
Exactly. Need to do some comparisons between early season and late season. See how he's stacking up against the rest of the league for September or whatever.

If you are 28th of 30 for the whole season, how good could you have been for even the last two months? As you can imagine there are no splits for defense so you can't see how he has done over less than a full season.
Maybe before the last two months he was 82nd out of 30.

Mallex Smith has improved so dramatically that he ranks among the best defenders in the Major Leagues at his position this year in some metrics.
Is that true?...If so i in fact do find it interesting...
I just checked UZR/150 (range), arm and error rankings. He is 27th of 30 in all three. Maybe he is first in % of hat flying off when making a play.

If not available, then not available... you didn't have the right stat to go after Johns on Twitter. He was talking improvement over the course of 2019, and you dropped a stat for the entirety of 2019.

We all know Johns tries to put a positive spin on everything; that's what he's paid to do. I don't expect him to focus on the shortcomings of the Mariners, but I also trust his reporting to be factual. Are we saying this guy hasn't made some improvement in the outfield? I have no idea, as I have not been watching the games.

Sorry but you must be math challenged. He is 28th of 30 for a full season. Let's assume he was dead last for the first two months of the season. What is the absolute best he could be for the last 4 months. 26th? Maybe 25th. How in the F does that = elite? Maybe he was elite last night. lol

Ohhh boy John's just dishes it out! Can just see Jerry and SS thinking what ridiculous metric will Greg lap up and put out for us to put some lipstick on this particular pig. No surprise this comes after the grumblings at last week's townhall meet when he mentioned Smith was pretty much staying.
