Julio only saw 9 pitches tonight, Naylor saw 11, Arozarena saw 12. Maybe the idea was to be aggressive early vs. Degrom. Those three all had 4 plate appearances. Cole Young had 3 plate appearances and managed to see 20 pitches, though he still went hitless.

I'd like to see these guys give themselves more of a chance. I wonder if Cole Young moves up a few spots in the order tomorrow, or maybe a few games from now?

I said that all off season, but the precedent has been set. Hover around .500 and then Jerry will strike Gold at the trade deadline. This allows them to save money right up until then, and everyone is happy. Except us since that plan has only actually worked for him twice in the last decade.

It's not a failure to add , it's Julio, Naylor, Raleigh and whoever not producing. You don't add in order to overcome a lineup that sucks. He added last season to augment a lineup that was actually producing.

They will come around and dipoto will probably look for additions. But if they don't then don't bother. There's really no point trying to add to a lineup at the deadline that sucks. You really aren't going to move the needle
