I think the word gained meaning as a pejorative for people that were against political change, that were "reacting" in a negative way to modern political ideas.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 8:01 pmSure that is what Gabe is saying. But how in the world does a word with the root of reaction mean resistant to change. Another word that makes no sense is invaluable which means VERY valuable. "IN" before a word almost always means the opposite of the word alone like invalid, indirect or independence and many others.

From the French Revolution...Trump probably misses feudalism lol
Similar to untracked lolOrigins in the French Revolution
• The National Assembly: During the French Revolution, members of the National Assembly divided by seating arrangement. Supporters of the king and traditional authority sat on the right, while radicals and revolutionaries sat on the left.
• The French Word (réactionnaire): The French coined réactionnaire as a political label for those whose actions were a direct "reaction" against the sweeping social, political, and religious changes taking place.
• English Adoption: The term entered the English language in the late 1790s (around 1799) to describe those fighting to bring back pre-revolutionary feudal monarchies
• Pathless or wild: Describes areas with no roads or footprints, such as untracked snow or an untracked jungle
.• Unmonitored: Refers to mail, shipments, or data sent without tracking numbers or active scanning.
• Overcoming a slump: Used in sports and casual speech to mean a team or person has started performing well after a slow beginning

It's funny, if they waited until the end of the season to deal with Wilson out of difference to him. They still managed to screw it up. After the deal with Servais its pretty incredible really that's all they could manage
Having Wilson announce his own firing after the game? Come on...

If overshadowing an emotional day at T-Mobile Park with the news of Dan Wilson's ouster was the Seattle Mariners' plan, well, that plan sucked. Yet Sunday's farewells are not to be overlooked, and that goes for one you might have missed on the part of Randy Arozarena

Its funny. People say spend more:
Look at Milwaukee & Tampa
Do they have meddling owners or incompetent front offices? They use analytics too don't they? Tampa's attendance sucks. How is it these 2 small market franchises just kicked everyone's ass this season? What's the secret sauce?

Agreed. Lack of spending isnt the Mariners problem.
Wasting what they do spend is their problem.

Yes, not spending is one thing....throwing money down the toilet and then crying poor is pathetic.
As for Wilson announcing his own exit? Wyman and Bob had an interesting theory on this yesterday, or maybe the day before. I don't remember. BUT...they said that maybe he wanted to do his final press conference, and figured that was the time to let everyone know? I kind of doubt that is it, but I guess we really don't know.
