I expect we will see more of these deferrals that will enable large and spendy market teams to tharwt the intentions of the competitive balance tax.
I am sure that what the dodgers and Ohtani did is legal but it doesn't help the talent drain that goes to those teams and makes the competition unbalanced.
Spending doesn't buy titles but it sure makes it a lot easier to win 54 percent every year.

There are ~18M people in the LA Metro area. Those prices would seem normal if this was his first season in the US but are people really paying that just to see him in a Dodger Uniform. He is basically Yordan Alvarez if he can't pitch.

I know. I don't get it. If it was NYC or even Toronto or Seattle it would make more sense.
