How come Marte hasn't been traded yet? If he's so valuable, you'd think teams would be falling all over themselves to get him, but that clearly isn't the case.
Why do you say that's clearly not the case?
The more teams that are interested the longer its going to take as the Diamondbacks haggle with everyone and try to get the best deal possible.

Because Hazen has a crazy ask and there is still 2 months left in the Off Season. It is like asking on July 1st why Naylor or Geno hasn't been traded yet.
I think what he'll eventually go for is something closer to what Lamda suggested than what you and Captain said the cost would be. I'm not saying Marte is garbage, but we've seen players at this age fall right off the cliff, and even though the contract is friendly in relative terms, there's a very good chance that the last few years of that deal are dead money.
It is Total WAR vs. Total contract. It is irrelevant what the cost is year by year and it is actually more team friendly to have it back loaded for Finance 101 time value of money reasons. He will likely be a huge bargain in the early years. I don't know how many times I have to explain this. People are so obsessed with Production needing to be greater than or equal to salary every single season of a contract or it is a bad contract. Not remotely the case.

Exactly, trying to get the bidding up. Hazen to another team: Mariners offered Kirby and Laz, can you beat that???

Lamda didn't specify what level the other prospect was but the fact that he left him nameless indicates that he doesn't think it will be a major player.
for sake of argument lets say its someone just outside of their top 10 prospects like Becker or McGraw. That would put Lamdas package at a value of about 28.5 Million on the BTV site. My package has a value of 72.8 D-trains suggestion of Kirby straight up has a value of 71.8. BTV has Marte valued at 69.1. IF Marte got traded he would have to go for a value below 50 for Lamda to be closer. Lets wait and see what happens if he indeed gets traded. I'd be shocked if it was anywhere near 50.

There is that and Marte is talked about as a club house cancer. Whatever that means. And I was thinking about how Jessie Winkler was talked about being a prima donna and not working on stuff to get better.

I don’t know what he has done in particular other than taking time off after the A.S. Break when his house was robbed. I know Marte is a good bat but not a great one in my perspective. I mean Soto was a 160 OPS+ career guy when he was traded. Marte is a a 121 OPS+ career guy and he is going to be 32 which is the same 2 numbers as Soto was when traded only flipped at age 23 with 3 years of C.C.

If I am the M’s I take Colt and Anderson off the table but I would be willing to go something like Young & Cinjinti or Sloan plus depending on how much money AZ sends additional top 100’s

Did anybody else see that Az is sniffing around FA 3B Alex Bregman?

And if you have seen those reports do you think that is because Az. Has already decided to move on from Ketel?

Do you have some sort of quota of one dopey post a day or what. Marte has never played a single inning at 3B in his MLB career.

It is really dumb as fk for you to respond by insulting members left and right. One might consider that they were considering adding a big contract while trading away another contract.

If you’re too dull to infer certain relationships without them explicitly dot to dot to dot I don’t know if you are the audience I am typing this out for. FFS
