The Mariners should be intent on leaving LF to either Trammell or Kelenic. Let them show up in Peoria and compete for the job. JK has 1 option yr left, Trammell does not, can be the 4th OF if he doesn't win the job. Can play all 3 OF spots.

I have faith that Kelenic wins the job. You can allow him to hit 8th and get better all year if you upgrade at SS and DH.

The Mariners should also not worry about SP. Trade Flexen and Marco. Sign a reliever or two (or trade). I like Matt Moore, Andrew Chafin, Matt Boyd. Isaiah Campbell and Bryce Miller could be close. For the 5 spot I see Hancock winning the job over Dollard and Brash, but it could be Dollard, too.
Agree regarding the rotation but sorry your faith in JK is completely Blind, like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Helen Keller blind deaf and dumb.

He hit .141 with a .534 OPS and finished the season 5 for 51 for God's sake. Zero reason to expect him to hit. None zip nada.
You all know that the Mendoza line is .200.....well the Kelenic line is .175

I just don't think he can/will ever hit big league pitching

he would need to improve his BA by 24% to hit .175 this season. That would be like Julio going from .284 to .352 in 2023.

I agree totally with what's been said about JK - about the only thing he brings to this team is a little depth. Now that KLew is gone, the question becomes "what do we do with LF?"

Look, I'd like Winker to rebound. I'd like he to be a charming teammate (not that I hang out in the clubhouse with the guys very often, but I gather camaraderie matters to the team as a whole - and Winker is by all account, a dickhead). But I am not sure that he can or he will. I think he and/or JK are still on the chop. So again, what do we do with LF? or DH?

I don't know what our options are, but we need another big bat. A really big bat. We are not chasing a pennant without first chasing the Astros. And they have Alvaerez. He is a one-dimensional player - he is a giant beast-of-a-man who swings a ridiculous bat. He can't run. He's defensively average. But he crushes right handed pitching, and we don't have an answer for him.

Aaron Judge would have been that answer, but that's not going to happen. Nimmo would be close, but I doubt that's happening. Teoscar is a good get, but that is not the total answer.

Whatever remaining moves we have left have to focus on getting 2 solidly offensive upgrades, and if it means getting rid of one or both of Winker and JK, all the better.

I know I am captain obvious here - I am just hoping that the moves the M's have made recently aren't THE big splashy moves, because it feels a lot like nibbling around the edges.

The Mariners and Blue Jays GM's both acknowledged after the Teoscar Hernández trade, that they are "IN" on Kodai Senga. If we're not going to empty the bank on a premier SS, then please for the love if God go and get Senga! He wont require a posting fee, nor will any team have to surrender a draft pick if he signs. He could be one if the best available pitcher's on the market this offseason. Maybe not DeGrom, but the next tier down. So far, all I know is that he's met with the Mets, and "talks went very well."

He'd probably kill it in Boston if he could stay healthy.

Maybe. Only 10 games at Fenway. .728 OPS.

Mitch's last 30 games he was at .214/.647. I could see him putting up between that and .700 OPS even if healthy in 2023

Such a small sample though.

Agree but I think his days of being even and average player are over.
