Didn't the doctor have any advice for you to help overcome the addiction?

There might be some sort of negative connotation but what I'd suggest for Dtrain is AA. I don't know if he's ever considered it. I think it be great, right in his wheelhouse. He'd be the star of the meetings. To me the toughest thing about dealing with these sorts of struggles is the social aspect. You get clean and sober, you want to share it with your friends but your friends are all drinking or using drugs or whatever, It's tough, it's lonely. That's the deal with AA, it makes it into a social event. And we all know how dtrain loves to socialize. You turn the situation on its head. You make it your social activity.

I was mandated to do it in the past due to two DUIs. Not a fan. Just a pity party. I actually have no reason to drink right now. I thought I would but don't have a social life here at all and am feeling great. You guys and X are my only social life. lol

I was thinking I am like Al Capone getting taking down by tax evasion charges. All that Alcohol and its freakin Ibuprofin that takes me down for the count!

About a dozen Doctors nurses and staff spent 48 hours day and night nursing me back from what felt like deaths door to feeling totally healthy. I feel I owe it to them to stay healthy. That's my inspiration.

From Sunday morning until yesterday afternoon. I was popping probably about 8 to 10: ibuprofen a day ignoring the fact that it basically Burns a hole in your stomach I had four bleeding ulcers. They were made worse by the alcohol but the true Source was ibuprofen if you can believe that.

I was also insanely shy as a kid and drinking was my miracle drug. Before when talking sober to girls I couldn't even speak but then I was like Casanova. LOL
DT, I don't know you well though we almost once met in Bellingham. I wish you all the best. With me I am very very fortunate. With a half bottle of wine a day and a gin & tonic out for social hour I have managed to keep things under control. Any drinking is over by 6PM so I can sleep later. The ceiling rarely spins, maybe once a year. I still have my Italian Sports drink on the golf course.

Hang in there bro.

(And your line above makes me think of Raj from the Big Bang Theory... I thought it was just a dramatic/comedy thing)
