I was disappointed in his decline. Perhaps he could've done something differently to be more effective. Maybe he still will. I have no idea. I just don't let the decline overshadow the shine. Same thing with Griffey going to the Reds. Same thing with Shawn Kemp.
Griffey bit the hand that fed him, imo. You wanna be a Red, by all means.

But, once you pull the selfish move that very very few MLB players have ever made, peace out. Bitch.

In the end, he got the ride into the sunset that he deserved, imo.

Obviously no Mariner fan is going to be happy that Griffey Jr. left the team. But, it was definitely exciting when he was in his prime playing for the Mariners.
