Arbitration isn't about coming to opinions, it's about facilitating negotiations. The players don't want it because they view it as a delaying tactic by owners. It eat up two weeks and not get anywhere. The owners are viewed as trying to draw the thing out, wait out the players as much as possible, and the arbitration process would play into that. The owners that are being bled dry, the owners that refuse to open their books

a best-case scenario now appears to be a truncated version of spring camps that still leaves enough time for players to ramp up for the regular season. There’s no guarantee that’ll happen, however, and the longer the interminable deadlock in negotiations lingers, the likelier it becomes that the regular season will be impacted.

The final two lines from the above-captioned link tells you about all you need to know. Fact is the players are not contented with the status quo which they agreed to several years back. Unions are never satisfied until they bleed the owners or run the business into the ground. Players who make the majors are well compensated, imo..... especially if you are good.

Whenever Trump suggested the media was biased which we all now know that it was guys like Law screamed, "Attack on Freedom of the Press!!!"

I saw that tweet when it came out and that was my thought as well. Someone at AP wrote something and didn't think too hard about the phrasing.
