I once had to drop off a cousin in Las Vegas for a flight are around 10pm on New Year’s Eve. When I drive home, I crossed the border and it was after 12. I never technically experienced the new years clock strike midnight
I haven't seen a New Years Eve anything in years.....I go to bed by 10.
I was in my 20s and single. I was mostly sad I didn’t have anything better going on for New Year’s Eve, which is why I remember it
I appreciate your honesty Kelby. I would have felt the same! :)

As do I. How are you doing my friend. Is your friends family doing ok?
It's a little rough since my buddy of 40 years passed, but thing have to move forward. I am actually still texting him like nothing has happened. His wife told me she cries every time I send a text, but please keep texting. When I told her I am doing it as a denial that he is gone, she said she should try that....."Damn it Mark, what's the password to your military retirement?"

The wife and I are heading to Memphis Wednesday for the funeral. No doubt the funeral itself will be difficult, but the next day there will be a military burial....that will bring many brutal tears to my eyes. I have a lot of emotional difficulty with military ceremony.

Thanks for checking in. I have to go get a new jacket for the funeral.

We all know that JD can be VERY aggressive when sorting through dumpsters.....just like homeless people.
I don't understand why they would rather gut the farm than shell out some money in the off-season. What happened to sustainability?

They still can shell out money
The report adds that money isn’t expected to be an issue for them in the coming months, which tracks with comments from manager partner John Stanton earlier this month, when he said that the front office would have resources to bolster the club.

So money was a huge issue just a few months ago but now it isn't? What happened, did George Soros join the ownership group?

Randy A. only has a 87 OPS+ but still has 10 SB, 11 HRs and 10 doubles. In his career he has always ran a over a .300 BABIP and this year he is at .220. Is Randy just experiencing the jinx? With Randy you would be getting 2.5 years of control for ages 29,30, and 31. 28.1 FPS.

Paredes Isaac, you get 3.5 years of 1B,3B,2B, SS. Paredes is in his age 25 so you would get his prime 25-28 years. The last 3 years he has gone 113, 131, and now 142 OPS+ .287 .369 .473 .842. 25.7 FPS  But he gives a high average and OBP and near a .200 ISO so almost an Edgar 300/400/500 line that I covet.

So, something like Polanco, Haniger, 10M$, 3-4 top 100 types say: #1 Cole Young, #2 Ford, # 6 Farmelo, #8 T-Lock and then 3-4 top 30 types. Polanco and Haniger are change of scenery types and especially in Polanco's case there is no reason why he could not turn it around just like Randy A. 4 top 100s is a huge hall and Isaac and Randy are in the years where they start to cost money.

1. *JP SS
2. Isaac 3B
3. Julio CF
4. *Raley OF
5. Randy A. OF
6. *Rojas 2B
7. France 1B
8. Cal** C
9. Garver DH

Bench Dilly, Canzone, Bliss, +1

What do you all think?

Since June began he is at Randy A is .294 .455 .490 .945  with a .333 BABIP

TB is in last place in the AL East. But still just 4 back of the last WC with Boston just 1 back of Minny.

IN more things TB

It looks like they DFAd Harold Ramirez who had a 125 OPS+ last year and a 118 OPS+ in 2022.

The Nats picked him up and he is mashing in AAA

.375 .546 .438 .983 so far

Here is a massive trade where we get a shitty starter back 102 ERA+ career and a shitty closer 127 ERA+ career

You know it is a massive swap of over 90M in value.
Their closer has a 111 ERA+ on the year but has a 127 career.

We would get 2 MOTO bats, a closer, a starter
Civale I am not sure he would be any better than Hancock/ Logan Evans. But I would probably non tender him even if you thought he could give you what you needed in 2024.

Here is another interesting trade that would never happen, but would you?

Verlander is still a monster under the bed.
Morjon is a shitty BP guy that is throwing up a 171 ERA+

And
